Position Overview:
Are you passionate about cybersecurity, network security, and AI technologies? Do you thrive on understanding the competition and figuring out how to outperform them? We’re seeking a Technical Marketing Engineer to lead competitive analysis efforts in the dynamic world of network security. You’ll be our go-to expert on competitive products, dissecting strengths, weaknesses, and industry trends while helping craft marketing strategies that position us ahead of the curve.
This role is ideal for someone with 4-8 years of experience who has deep knowledge of networking and security technologies and an enthusiasm for competitive intelligence and technical marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth competitive analysis of network security products (including firewall, IPS, zero-trust architecture, cloud security, SASE) to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the marketplace.
- Market Research: Stay on top of emerging trends in cybersecurity, AI, and networking technologies, providing insights into how competitors are positioning their products.
- Product Comparison: Build detailed comparisons, feature matrices, and technical reports on competitors’ solutions. Identify gaps in our offerings and provide strategic recommendations to product management and marketing teams.
- Demo & Testing: Evaluate competitive products through hands-on testing, performance benchmarking, and product demos to understand their technical architecture and capabilities.
- Customer & Sales Support: Support sales and marketing teams with competitive battle cards, white papers, and presentations that highlight our advantages in the market.
- Technical Content Creation: Create technical marketing content, such as blogs, videos, and webinars, to showcase our product’s unique strengths, especially in comparison to competitors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product management, engineering, and sales teams to align competitive insights with our product roadmap and go-to-market strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of work experience in Networking, Cybersecurity, or related technical fields, with a focus on competitive analysis or technical marketing.
- Deep knowledge of network security architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, SSL/TLS encryption and more.
- Understanding of AI and machine learning applications in cybersecurity, such as AI-driven threat detection, anomaly detection, and automated response systems.
- Strong familiarity with security products like SIEMs, SASE, CASBs, EDR/XDR, and other modern cybersecurity solutions.
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills—able to distill complex technical information into clear, concise messaging.
- Ability to conduct in-depth analysis of competitor products and articulate technical differentiators.
- Experience with product evaluations, lab testing, and hands-on technical analysis.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills—able to spot industry trends, identify technical gaps, and predict future threats from competitors.
- Ability to create and deliver high-impact technical content (white papers, technical blogs, presentations).
- Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional collaboration.

- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or MITRE ATT&CK.
- Experience with product evaluation or technical testing in lab environments.
